Congratulations are in order for the Director of our family business, Steven Watson, who last week became a father for the first time.

The arrival of Lily Watson came a day ahead of schedule, which is quite fitting with Steven’s ethos of efficiency here at Superstars!

Lily’s arrival began in dramatic style, as both mum and dad were attending an awards ceremony at the time of the labour setting in!  Steven was up for an award at the prestigious Bolton Active Sports Awards at the Macron Stadium, home of Bolton Wanderers FC, having been shortlisted as a finalist in the category of Unsung Hero in Sport.  The nomination came as a result of Steven’s long term voluntary work within grassroots junior football, which is something he has long been passionate about in order to ensure that local youngsters have the opportunity to participate and develop in fun and focused football sessions. His girls-only FA Charter Standard football club, Academy Juniors FC, celebrates its 10 year anniversary this season.

The award wasn’t to be his, unfortunately, but we know that Steven will have been more than delighted with the ‘trophy’ he was presented with some 15 hours later, when his beautiful daughter was brought into the world; healthy, happy, and the definition of a true Superstar.  Uncle Gordon, our Superstars Programme Leader for Fitness, was the first visitor on the scene at Royal Bolton Hospital to dish out the cuddles.

Mum and baby are doing very well, and have already been out to visit a selection of Superstars clients with Steven – taking in a tour of schools, photo studios, football clubs and local eateries to name just a few places where Lily has been welcomed with open arms (and cuddles) as daddy gets on with work.

Superstars is a family business (Lily’s mum is our very own Head of Education, Jo), and so we are delighted that we can share this wonderful news with all of our present clients, future prospects and loyal supporters of all we do here in our little empire.
